One Last Day...
So, as many of you know, today marked my last full day overseas. It was well spent I’d say. Here’s how it went:
I woke up in the morning at 9.15 to the usual sounds of people around packing their bags and getting ready to check out (which is usually at 10). By the time I’d prepared myself for the day and stepped out the door, it was 11, and I had a set game plan. There were a...

A Full Cup of Denmark
Today didn’t turn out how I’d originally thought it would, but a thousand times better. It could have been one of the more memorable days of this journey! Originally, Paolo and I had planned on catching a local ferry to the island of Hven, which is directly between Denmark and Sweden. The both of us woke up incredibly early (6.30) and met at 8 in Radhusplassen to head together for the...

Copenhagen!
Today marked my day dedicated to Copenhagen… unfortunately almost all museums were closed, because in Scandinavia, alot of businesses close on Monday! Strange isn’t it? So, I basically spend my day walking the streets of Copenhagen and seeing the majority of its sights that are always open! The day started out for the most part at noon, when I got to Stroget, Copenhagen’s main...

The Danish Countryside and Copenhagen
Although today didn’t start so fantastically (waking up at 2 AM to incredibly loud snoring from not only one, but three people), it turned out to be a very very grand day! I woke up earlier than usual, at 8.15, and got myself ready for the day fairly quickly, because I was planning on making it to a tour that started from Radhusplasset in the center of town. So, I was out of the hostel by...

On to Denmark!
I woke up this morning in a completely different country than the one I now write to you from. It was 8.15 when my alarm went off, because I was due to board a train in Stockholm at 10.21. So, I took my time waking up, packed up my posessions, bade a fond farewell to Stockholm, and headed for the train station (which was only a five minute subway ride away). When I got there, it was about...

Stockholm The Fifth (Finale)
Today was my last day in Stockholm, and one which was quite enjoyable, just for the fact that I wasn’t rushing to do all that much. I woke up at 10.15 or so (again) and slowly got out of bed (as usual). After my usual timed shower (can you tell my mornings get quite repetetive?) I packed my back quickly and jogged out the door, because I realized that the changing of the guard at the Royal...

Stockholm Day Four
So, today I decided to set my alarm “early” again. So, I rolled out of bed at 10.15, and was surprised to see that all of my room mates had already left! Wowwwww! Quiet time! So, I laid in bed for a few moments, jogged some thoughts down in my little notebook, and then got up to face the day. By 11.15 I was outside, and I was super excited because it was warm, and the sun was out for...

Stockholm Day Three
My god, I had the worst night of sleep ever! The person in the bunk next to me was snoring all night long, incredibly loud! I woke up at three AM and laid in bed for about an hour until I fell asleep again. However, when I woke up at 10, I felt like I got a pretty decent rest after all.
At about 12 I walked upstairs to exit the hostel, only to find that it was pouring rain outside (suprise,...

Stockholm Day Two
Today just started out great, because I rolled out of bed to the church bells across the street chiming out twelve o’clock. Thats twelve hours of sleep, which were much needed. By the time I got out of the hostel, it was 12.45, and I strolled dilligently towards the Old Town. However, I got sidetracked by a looming building, with the words “Stat Museem” on the side. For you...
Perhaps One of my Favorite Compliments
Anstein: You are Norwegian?
Me: I have Norwegian ancestry. I think its about 18 percent.
Anstein: You have the eyes.

Stockholm (Arrival)
So, for some unknown reason, I booked my train ticket for 7.23 in the morning, so I was up by 6 o’clock. I got dressed and packed in the dark so that I wouldn’t awaken my roommates, and then headed down to the station. It was pouring rain in Oslo, so it was chilly, but as the Norwegians say “There’s no bad weather, just bad clothing”. I was pleasantly surprised...

In Transit
Today was one day of my two day train journey to Stockholm. I got up at 8, showered, secured my bags and then headed to the 7/11 on the corner to buy some goodies for the 7 hour train trip back to Oslo. When I was in the store, I was stopped by a Norwegian kid from Bergen who was about my age. He asked where I was from, and started ranting about how great Bergen was compared to Oslo. He was also...
